Laureates of the « La Relève; Société de Guitare de Montréal Competition »
(in collaboration with the Montreal Classical Guitar Festival and Competition).

David is passionate about plucked instruments since a very young age. He began studying the guitar at just 11 years old as part of a workshop at school. For the past two years, he has been training more seriously with the guitarist Steven Cowan, in private lessons. He has been studying with the same professor at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal since September 2019. David has also worked with the renowned Jérôme Ducharme at the Père-Lindsay Musical Camp for the past three summers.

In addition to classical guitar, David has been working on the renaissance lute for a year with Anthony Harvey.

In the spring of 2019, while competing for the first time in music competitions, David won a gold medal at the Sherbrooke Music Competition and a first prize at the Festival concours interprovincial Pierre-de Saurel in his age category. A month later, he also won first prize at the Concours de la Relève SGM 2019, organized by Guitare Montréal. This earned him, among other things, this first complete recital program.

David is currently completing his third year of high school at Collège Jean-Eudes in Montreal.
